Food
Food in the trenches of World War One food was sometimes considered a luxury. It was very hard to get hot food from field kitchens to the front lines trenches. The time that food was fairly easy to get to the soldiers was when soldiers were at stand-down. They sometimes got some biscuits with bacon and cheese, but their main food source was bully beef. Bully beef was corned beef that was packaged in tin cans and was one of the easier food sources to get to soldiers on front lines.
Drink
The main thing that soldiers would in the trenches was tea, but not very good tea. The tea they drank often tasted like petrol because the tea was kept in empty petrol pots.
